Ode to Gymnastics

There once was a little girl that could tumble.
But there are times when she will stumble.
She enjoys the parallel bars and the cartwheel.
This class is quite the real deal.

In class, they rock and they roll
Doing flips, turns and twists.
Having fun is her goal
(If you get my gist!).

Someday she will be thankful
For all that gymnastics has taught.
A trophy, friends and times that are cheerful.
Gymnastics fever is what she has caught.

My Poor Baby Dog

Okay...our chocolate lab, Sargeant, is currently undergoing surgery for a torn ACL. He hasn't been able to walk well for quite awhile. My mother and various others think I am crazy for paying for this surgery when it is so much cheaper just to put the dog down. I just can't do that! He has over half of his life left, as long as he stays out of the way of speeding vehicles. Okay, so this money could be used to help out somewhere else...but it is my baby dog! I doubt any of you would do anything any differently...right?

Working Outside Rocks

Thanks to a wonderfully warm January, we are off to a very productive year as far as cleaning up with old farm is concerned. We managed to finally clean up the hedge row (the pyro in me can't wait for this huge conflagration), build a dog pen, move more junk to the landfill, finish the storage room shelves, and make a tree chair for Emory. I love working outside and seeing progress. It is really too bad that I don't work this hard on the inside. I have never been much of an inside girl I guess.

Here is our new tree chair. Josh cut down an old dead tree and turned it into a chair. Emory and Owen have been fighting to sit in it. Thanks to Emory's new photo skills, we also have a picture of Josh and me to share.

Christmas Pics

Here are some pictures from Christmas morning at the farm. Emory and Owen loved their gifts from Santa...a big-girl bike and a covered wagon.

Be Patient Please!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your families. We certainly did! It was a busy, busy time full of work around the farm, preparing for Christmas, spending time with family and friends and reading.

I had over two weeks off, and it was super nice just to relax and enjoy. All during break I had planned on posting, and just couldn't get it done. I will be posting pictures soon. I need to do that with my laptop, and I am currently on the desktop.

Besides reading seven good books, I was also so excited for finally gutting the three car garage of its amazing amount of unwanted crap. You can actually see the cement floor and the walls. Josh is super excited to get a new roof and siding. I can't wait for the double garage door. We also were able to gut the basement of its old, moldy paneling. Josh will be building me shelves this weekend so that we can move out of our storage shed! YEA!

One last hooray! I managed to get A's on my last two classes that stressed me so much. I have a nice break until mid-February. More leisure reading in my future....

pictures are coming soon...love, court
